CRFMHA Annual Awards
Volunteer OTY
A volunteer who has made an exceptional contribution to the Association during the current season. Whether as a team or Association member, official, parent or executive volunteer, or member of the larger community (hockey or otherwise), the recipient will have dedicated significant effort, time and leadership in the development and growth of female hockey in our region and/or our province.
 
Laurie Wishart Manager of the Year
A Team Manager who went “above and beyond” in the performance of their duties in this busy and challenging role during the current season.

Coach OTY
A coach who best exemplifies the values, goals and philosophy of the CRFMHA. Modelling patience, effective communication, leadership and motivation both on and off the ice, this coach demonstrates a balanced approach between skill building and fun, ensuring all players have a rewarding and memorable season.
 
Goalie OTY
The goalie (at any level) whose dedication, positive attitude and consistency of play serves to lead and inspire their team in all situations.  This goaltender will have demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, commitment and a continual desire to improve in this unique position.

Player OTY - Offense
An offensive player of distinction who has demonstrated outstanding citizenship/mentorship in their hockey community and/or the community at large, as well as having an exceptional hockey season. Having attained high levels of achievement both on and off the ice, this player is being recognized as a leader, role model and inspiration for other players as well as an ambassador for the Association and for female hockey generally.
 
Player OTY - Defense
A defensive player of distinction who has demonstrated outstanding citizenship/mentorship in their hockey community and/or the community at large, as well as having an exceptional hockey season. Having attained high levels of achievement both on and off the ice, this player is being recognized as a leader, role model and inspiration for other players as well as an ambassador for the Association and for female hockey generally.
 
Most Improved Player - U11 and younger
A player in the U7, U9 or U11 Division who stands out as having realized dramatic personal improvement and growth over the course of the season. Whether new to hockey or a seasoned player, this player will have demonstrated consistent effort, determination and improvement in individual and team technical skills, as well as life skills such as sportsmanship, leadership and teamwork.

Most Improved Player - U13 and older
A player in the U13, U15, U18 or U21 Division who stands out as having realized dramatic personal improvement and growth over the course of the season. Whether new to hockey or a seasoned player, this player will have demonstrated consistent effort, determination and improvement in individual and team technical skills, as well as life skills such as sportsmanship, leadership and teamwork.

Offical of the Year
An on-ice official who has made an outstanding contribution to the Association during the current season through both their participation as well as their dedication to continual improvement. The recipient will have obtained all necessary certifications, is looked upon as a “leading” official within the female hockey community and is an ambassador and/or mentor that inspires others to take on this indispensable and rewarding role.
 
Most Improved Official
An official who stands out as having realized dramatic personal improvement and growth over the course of the season.  Whether new to refereeing or a seasoned referee, this referee will have demonstrated consistent effort, determination and improvement of technical skills, as well as life skills such as sportsmanship, leadership and teamwork.
 
Team of the Year
Recognizing a team’s sportsmanship, performance, achievements and contributions within the hockey or larger community during the current season. Team members will have collectively acted as exemplary representatives of the Association, at all times displaying true sportsmanship and leadership qualities, with a focus on growing and developing the female game and supporting fellow players in a fun, safe and inspirational environment.

Resilience Award
This discretionary award is given to recognize a player who has shown exceptional determination and resilience in the face of adverse personal circumstances, such as trauma, loss, mental or physical illness or injury, that may have impacted their ability to participate fully in the current season, while still remaining committed to their team, the game and themselves.  Due to the nature of this award, the consent of the nominated player and/or their parent/guardian MUST be obtained PRIOR to the nomination being submitted.

Spirit Award
This award is presented to the player who best exemplifies a love for the game, sportsmanship and enthusiasm for participating in the sport. The player has shown an attitude where the joy of competing to the best of her ability, and afterwards having the grace to acknowledge friend or foe no matter the outcome of the game, is paramount. This individual has been active as in citizenship and mentorship roles and represents herself, her peers, her family and the association in a positive fashion both on and off the ice. She is dedicated and a player who works with the coaches and her teammates for the betterment of the team.
 
Youth Volunteer OTY
A youth volunteer (aged 4-21 years) who has demonstrated outstanding citizenship/mentorship in their hockey community and/or the community at large.  This youth is being recognized as a leader, role model and inspiration for other players as well as an ambassador for the Association and for female hockey generally.
